Air Compassion for Veterans (ACV)

Air Compassion for Veterans or ACV is a unique organization that strives to ensure that our wounded military members and veterans have access to air transportation for the purposes of getting them to and from the specialized appointments and care facilities that are necessary for their rehabilitation. ACV ensures that no wounded soldier or veteran and their families are denied access to essential programs due to lack of finance. Programs offered for promotion of healing of the soldiers include specialized medical evaluation, treatment after diagnosis, rehabilitation, counseling and programs that promote healing. Wounded soldiers are provided with free transportation to destinations where they can benefit from ongoing healing with the help of donors. ACV is a link that connects willing and compassionate donors to deserving but financially stressed wounded soldiers and veterans in America.

More more and more wounded soldiers are provided essential access to life transforming and life healing programs to help them get back to normal lifestyle as soon as possible. There has been a steady rise in the number of wounded soldiers from the Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom and this has placed a great strain on the country’s medical facilities. Many wounded men and women soldiers find it difficult reaching destinations where they can receive specialized medical care and facilities. ACV helps families of these soldiers reach medical facilities close to their homes for specialized treatment.

Non-ambulatory patients receive air ambulance service if they are qualified. The mission as such operates through commercial airline tickets. ACV partners with Angel Flight to help patients’ access rural and remote areas backed by private planes and pilots. Soldiers and veterans can just fill out forms available on the website. After printing and filling up the form, it can be faxed to the organization which will then verify and inform eligible soldiers. Deserving veterans and soldiers can avail of the service within 24 hours.

This organization is in existence of the past 35 years and has since served thousands of veterans and soldiers. Founded by the “Father” of charitable air transportation, Mr. Edward R. Boyer, this organization offers air transportation on a charitable basis during disaster and medical emergency situations. Veteran and wounded soldiers can avail of free transportation through ACV to any of the healing venues, specialized counseling centers and treatment centers.
