Troops To TeachersTroops To Teachers: OverviewTroops to Teachers, which is a program that is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, is meant to not only encourage individuals that have served in the Armed Forces to become teachers, but it also helps to prepare them for this valuable occupation. Qualified individuals can be found teaching students in a number of different settings, including elementary schools, secondary schools, or even in technical/vocational schools. The Defense Activities for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) is the entity that should be consulted. Troops to Teachers: EducationThere are two primary requirements for this program. One requirement is that you have been honorably discharged from the military. The other is that you have earned at least a bachelors degree.
