America’s VetDogsAmerica’s VetDogs is a nonprofit organization founded in the 1946. This organization was founded by the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind. Veterans and people who are visually impaired or blind are provided with guide dogs and training by this organization. After returning from conflicts abroad, veterans and wounded warriors may require assistance from service dogs and guide dogs apart from mobility devices and this foundation was founded especially to satisfy their requirements. In order to enhance their lives, veterans in America are offered access to best possible services through the vet dogs program. Apart from this, America’s VetDogs has relationships with the Department of Veteran Affairs and with the military. To make veterans self reliant by offering them all possible services is the sole aim of this organization. Since the time it has been incorporated, this organization has touched the lives of both disabled overseas service members and disabled veterans alike. Recognizing their service, the Army Public Service Award was given to this organization. The aim of this America’s VetDogs is to recognize, appreciate and honor sacrifices of women and men in uniform and to respect their sincere and dedicated service to the nation. It strives to enable veterans to live in an independent manner. Veterans, active duty personnel or military personnel are not charged for any of these services as this organization depends exclusively on voluntary public contributions. The need for guide dogs has been constantly on the rise with more and more veterans and soldiers returning home injured from their fight against terrorism. VetDogs offers veterans an opportunity to live with dignity and without depending on others by giving them access to their own K-9 corps. Service dogs are also trained and supplied to veterans with visual impairment and other disabilities apart from guide dogs. Every student of the Guide Dog Foundation is provided with personalized training through classes. Dogs are carefully chosen and provided to those who are visually impaired depending on their lifestyle, personality, mobility and physical needs.
