Disabled Veterans Associations (DVA)

Veterans always have and continue to contribute selflessly towards protecting their nation. Organizations like the Disabled Veterans Association strive to protect the interests and assist veterans who have sacrificed so much for the country.

There are at least 24.5 million veterans in America out of which 9 million are above the age of 65 and 2.6 million are disabled according to the US Department of Veteran Affairs statistics. There are many care homes for veterans across the country today offering services to veterans and spouses who are qualified but only one fourth of the veterans in the country are aware of these facilities.

Disabled Veterans Association was founded with the sole purpose of getting the message across to veterans across the country regarding the kind of facilities and programs available for their benefit. This organization was formed in 1998 and has since been providing veterans with emotional support, crisis intervention, community referrals, emergency response services and educational information through teams of trained volunteers. The aim of this organization is to provide support and aid in times of crisis to help enhance the quality of life for veterans.

Veterans Entrepreneurial Training Seminars or VETS is a program for veterans who want to settle down in life with a business of their own and for those who are already in business. Through the VETS program, this organization offers them with training on helpful techniques and offers them information that empowers and motivates them.

Helping and Assisting Veterans in Emergency or HAVE is an initiative that reaches out to veterans at an individual level. Veterans are assisted on a short term basis by DVA with the help of agencies such as country service officers. This organization believes in a coordinated, joint effort to meet the specific needs of veterans.
