AIU Provides Industry-Current Programs that will Benefit Military Students

Military - American InterContinental University: Overview

American InterContinental University (AIU) was founded in 1970 in Europe in order to usher in a new age of educating students; one that travels beyond the scope of the conventional methods of instruction to one that provides a more well-rounded experience, which better prepares students for real-world challenges. The institution expanded its outreach by adding campuses in Atlanta Buckhead in 1976, London in 1978, Los Angeles in 1982, and Atlanta Dunwoody in 1998, South Florida in 1998, and Houston in 2003. In 2001, the university decided to add an online curriculum in order to provide even more accessible education to students. Therefore, AIU Online was established. AIU decided to combine the AIU Buckhead and AIU Dunwoody campuses in 2009 in order to establish AIU Atlanta.

The mission statement of AIU is “to provide for the varying educational needs of a culturally diverse and geographically dispersed student body with the goal of preparing students academically, personally, and professionally for successful careers.” The goals of the institution include ethical behavior, responsibility, and professional standards. For military students in search of an institution that will provide an educational experience that will help them to achieve personal and professional objectives, AIU’s mission statement and goals align with the values that these individuals have lived by while serving our country. In addition, AIU pledges its strong support for the military by providing industry-current degrees to strengthen the skill-sets of our servicemembers. Finally, AIU provides a number of benefits, including college credit for military training, to military students.

AIU provides a number of Associate’s Degrees, Bachelor’s Degrees and Master’s Degrees that will benefit military personnel. These programs include degrees in business administration, criminal justice, education, healthcare management, information technology, marketing, and visual communication. All of these areas of focus are highly desired by all branches of the military and will all help to make a servicemember more promotable. Whether an individual wants to improve his or her effectiveness as an enlisted member, earn a commission as an officer, or prepare to transition to the civilian workforce, AIU has a program that aligns perfectly with these goals.

American InterContinental University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association.
