Military Friendly Schools in VirginiaVirginia has a long and storied military tradition, which continues to this day. This state is host to 20 military installations. Only California has more bases and only these two states host at least one installation from each of the five services. The installations in Virginia include the Defense Supply Center Richmond, FCTCLANT Dam Neck, Fort Belvoir, Fort Eustis, Fort Lee, Fort Monroe, Fort Myer, Fort Story, Henderson Hall, Langley AFB, NAB Little Creek, NAS Oceana, NS Norfolk, NSGA Northwest, NSWCDD Dahlgren, NWS Yorktown, Quantico, SCSC Wallops Island, USCG Hampton Roads, and USCG TC Yorktown. There are great communities surrounding these installations, such as Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Richmond, Arlington, Newport News, Hampton, Alexandria, Portsmouth, Roanoke, and Lynchburg. It is a privilege for a service member to have the opportunity to be stationed in Virginia, not just because it is a beautiful state with many activities in which to participate, but it has many educational opportunities. Considering that there are a number of military friendly schools in Virginia, it should be high on the priority list of a service member stationed there to utilize the GI Bill and the other educational benefits available to military members and get back to school.
