A Military Member can Benefit from an Education Provided by the International Academy of Design and Technology

Military - International Academy of Design and Technology: Overview

The International Academy of Design and Technology was designed to provide an excellent education to those individuals interested in exciting careers that require highly specialized training. The degrees offered by the International Academy of Design and Technology are at both the Associate’s and Bachelor’s level in graphic design, web design, fashion merchandising, advertising design, web development, game production, digital media production, building information modeling, and internet marketing. Many of these programs are only offered by the International Academy of Design and Technology due to the fact that they require very specialized instruction from individuals with real-world experience in the areas of technology and design.

At first glance, one may not consider the degrees offered by the International Academy of Design and Technology as beneficial to the military. However, this is not the case, since each branch of the military is in need of many of the skills that one can obtain through the programs offered by the International Academy of Design and Technology. For example, the United States Army has an MOS for a Combat Documentation/Production Specialist, which is 25V. This MOS requires an individual to be proficient in filming events such as recording military operations, military ceremonies, and news-worthy events. A Combat Documentation/Production Specialist is responsible for still photography, video photography, and even audio acquisition in terms of documenting any of the Army’s operations, whether or not they are combat related.

Another example of a military career that can benefit from an education provided by the International Academy of Design and Technology is the Multimedia Illustrator in the U.S. Army. A Multimedia Illustrator, which has a designated MOS of 25M, is responsible for generating all different types of materials that requires an individual with talent in graphic arts. This soldier will produce illustrations, map overlays, posters, graphs and charts that support both combat and non-combat Army operations. In addition, a Multimedia Illustrator in the Army may develop artwork for training courses, cartoons for animation, and design backdrops and props for film sets. As you can see, a degree in graphics design from the International Academy of Design and Technology coupled with the training and experience provided by the military will result in a great career whether the individual decides to stay in the military or enter the civilian workforce.
