Virginia College Online Programs Provide the Sought-After Convenience that Military Students Require

Military - Virginia College Online: Overview

Virginia College was established in 1983 in Roanoke, Virginia and, in 1992, began expanding its outreach by opening new campuses. This initiative was a result of the college being purchased by Education Futures, Inc. The first branch campus erected was located in Homewood, Alabama, which is a suburb of Birmingham. Since then, Virginia College has opened 13 additional branches in seven states. In addition, Virginia College offers online programs so that students may participate in class no matter where they are located. In fact, a student may take courses exclusively online, completely on campus, or may participate in a combination of both online and campus courses in order to earn a degree. This versatility is great for our members of the military, since they are subject to such demanding schedules.

Speaking of our troops, they can certainly find a great number of reasons to choose Virginia College. Certainly, the versatility that the school provides to its students is one great reason. Virginia College also provides great career placement assistance, it provides a curriculum that is geared towards today’s workforce, its instructors have real-world experience, and the textbooks are part of the tuition cost. These are just some of the benefits provided to any student. Military students can take advantage of the additional benefits reserved exclusively for them by Virginia College. These military benefits include college credit for military training, special tuition rates, the Armed Forces Recognition Scholarship, the Patriots Service Scholarship, and a military-friendly deployment policy. In addition, Virginia College organized a specialized team, which is known as the Military Student Center, focused on catering to the needs of military personnel. An added bonus to consider is the fact that these benefits are not only eligible to active-duty military members, but also to guardsmen, reservists, veterans, and active-duty dependents.

An online format is an extremely effective method of delivering instruction, especially for our troops who are constantly on the move and are in need of convenience. Virginia College provides online programs that are meant to fit the schedule of an individual, not the other way around. This provides our troops with the opportunity to attend classes whenever they want; 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

Virginia College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, which is nationally recognized as an accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. This institution is authorized to award certificates, diplomas, associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and master’s degrees online.
